Continuing with our series of articles about different forms of Fan Art, today we are going to talk about Artisan Crafts.

The Definition

"Tangible craft work created by the artist, typically created for utilitarian use or decorational purposes. Only the tangible, finished product belongs into the Artisan Crafts galleries. There is a wide variety of artisan crafts, including pottery, textiles, needlework, wood, metal, leather, glass, jewelry, culinary arts and much more." - `MyntKat, former Artisan Crafts Volunteer.

"work that has been imagined and designed by the artist and then replicated in a form that is different to drawing/painting such as wool, felt, wood, metal etc. Or work that is taken from a 2D reference and then made into something else, like a my little pony etc." - `UnicornReality, Artisan Crafts Community Volunteer

Some awesome Artisan Crafts:

How does this apply to deviantART and the Fan Art Gallery?

The Fan Art gallery doesn't have an Artisan Crafts category, therefore any crafts that display any copyrighted characters or items need to be submitted in the Artisan Crafts gallery and its categories, depending on the type of craft made.

Thanks a lot to `MyntKat and `UnicornReality for their collaboration.

You go to Sta.sh, choose Compose in Sta.sh Writer on the top right put your text and then click Continue at the bottom. When the new page loads, you'll see a preview of the journal. At the bottom you can change the name and under that you can select the category it goes in.

If what I said seems a bit confusing, I suggest this tutorial by ^KovoWolf which explains how to submit to other categories instead of Journals > Personal with Sta.sh writer.
