Hello, everyone!

Welcome to another edition of our Fan Art Community Newsletter. Let's see what the months of May and June had in store for us:

:bulletpink: ^JZLobo joined the Community Relations Team as the first Fan Fiction Community Volunteer!  All of your Fan Fiction DD suggestions should go to him, but make sure to read his guidelines before sending him a note.

:bulletpink: Speaking of Community Volunteers, the following deviants joined the team along ^JZLobo:

:bulletpink: May 9 marked our Fan Art Gallery's 5th anniversary.  `CreativeJenn posted a little tribute to celebrate this happy occasion.

:bulletpink: A Whole New World Contest finished and the winners were announced by `CreativeJenn.

:bulletpink: On the same token, the Freaky Friday Fan Fiction Contest also ended. You can see the winners announcement here.

:bulletpink: And if you missed it, here's May's Fan Art DD Summary.

:bulletpink: `AwsumZ is hosting an interesting contest for custom My Little Pony fans. The details can be found in his journal

:new::bulletpink:  The amazing ^Thiefoworld has posted two great articles featuring Fan Art.  The first one is called Original Fan Arts where he talks about how fanartists aren't necessarily unoriginal for expressing their love for a TV show, book or movie.  It's a must read for everyone!  As Thiefo says:

"There are still a lot of stigmas against Fan Art, one of them being the belief that you're giving up your originality and creativity as artist by making fanart, a debate that will go on forever.

However I believe, as shown with these features, that you can still create Fan Art without compromising your creativeness and originality. Just like with any other subject, you are free to present the idea in your own way."

:bulletpink: The second article is Feature: The Legend of Korra, showcasing a wide arrange of amazing Fan Art of the long awaited sequel to Avatar: the last Airbender.

Thanks for reading!

You should be aware that he was in a Lady Gaga concert last week and the photos he took and uploaded here are his and were posted to Photojournalism, where they belong.

Then maybe you should have been more specific in your comment. Again, this is a matter of reporting to the appropriate channels.

I'm not using celebrity images as stock. I'm using them to show my support to them. If you went through the entire stamp gallery on dA, you'd find that 90% of stamps submitted have some form of copyrighted images. Same with Memes. They're supposed to be a fun medium, carefree if you will.

If you are really worried about it, you can report them.
