-Nazgro Ghurk, Ork ‘Ardboy.

Ork warcamp, half a mile North of the Grey Line.

Burning space debris breached the thick layer of toxic clouds, scattering across the sky like fireworks. It was a far too common sight for the Orks; what was left of the once great Greenskin warships would s

doesn't pull its punches. It's an engrossing depiction of the hellishness of war, seen through the eyes of the Orks.

Redwall- Coming Home      Winter over Mossflower wood had been remarkably harsh. Everything was white and cold, frozen in its place until Spring. The tree branches leaned low, heavily laden with snow and ice. There was a constant flurry of snow falling at all times.
The weather had trapped the creatures of Redwall Abbey inside the red sandstone structure. The only ones allowed out were the biggest and strongest of creatures, and even then only rarely.

Presently, one of those with such privileged rights was outside, charging through the deep snow on the Abbey walls, attempting to survey the landscape.

. Suggester says, "The illustrations are written beautifully and I can picture myself there in the storm." I agree. The descriptions and emotions have perfect weight in this touching story.

Memento Mori (A Twilight One-Shot)
Millicent flinched in her seat when Parson Cullen slammed his Bible on the pulpit. "In the First Book of the Saint John, we find that 'If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness!' This is the blessing of God, given to man! Do not take this gift in ill-gratitude, sons and daughters of the Lord God..."

Parson Cullen's sermons had grown louder and louder since the death of his son. Millicent Timmins – born-again, faithful churchgoer – became more concerned for him with each passing year.

After the service, the silent congregation shuffled out of the church into t

SunshineHis eyes were blank as he waved his hand lazily through the visible radiance of sunshine that cascaded through the thick trees above, dappling the clearing that he didn't dare enter.  The light refracted through his hand, bending oddly, as if it were passing through water rather than flesh.  Not that his flesh could truly be called flesh anymore.

Macalaurë sighed and looked down at the shining green grass.  His silver gaze could detect no sign of a foreign, solid object obstructing the path of the light that was being thrown to the ground, lighting up the world around him in a way that appeared striking compared to the gray of everythin

gives us a moment in Maglor's long life where he is only halfway gone; he contemplates his fate, his lost family, and how the world has changed around him through the ages. I particularly like the use of the Sun as a motif of sorts, considering the symbolic significance Tolkien places on light in his own works."

Scootaloo's Personal Diary - Entry 1
{[(Author's note for the readers: The pages are linked as "Next" and "Previous" in the comments. There is more than one section! No need to dig through my thousands of deviations to find where the pieces are!)]}

[Scootaloo's Diary is a leather-bound "Forever Pages" enchanted diary with her name hoofwritten in smudged permanent ink. It is hoofwritten by what looks to be a fairly young pony. The edges of the pages are all warped as if it has been dropped in a puddle or left out in the rain. Various pages appear to have things tucked within.]

Entry 1:

Auntie Raincloud said I should start writing a diary with memories of my parents. She bought

GravityShe grinned at him.  Dragons ravaged their livestock, Vikings bled and bellowed, and still she could smile.  Blood stained the cracks of her teeth and her skin glistered in the firelight, smudged and cracked, but she was every bit as beautiful to him as the day she stood fresh and flower-scented at their wedding.

It was more than her smile that drew Stoick towards Valhallarama, even as battle blistered around him.  He felt compelled to check in on her with every break between conflicts.  He needed proof that he still had her.  An irrational tenancy to indulge in battle, but one she tolerated.

Gravity by *AvannaK

transports the reader into the Viking and dragon conflict. Its authentic character interactions and descriptions make it seem like we're watching the movie again!"

Wartime - Ch. 1
The sooner this was over, the better. Getting shipped out into the middle of nowhere during the wet season like a bunch of cargo was hardly what most of them had in mind, judging by the looks on their faces. Well, the faces of those more like him, Pebble thought. The soldiers in this particular caravan seemed a little bit too eager to rejoin their fellows on the marshy battlefield, their helmets tipped low, their eyes focused on the dirty metal floor of the vehicle, and their hands firmly clasped around the handles and barrels of their rifles. It made him uneasy. He tried to hide that to the best of his ability, but the veterans would pick u

Wartime - Ch. 1 by ~StellarIce Suggester finds "this story great for a lot of reasons, but the main reason is because it makes you care about the OC's around you in the story. It's also very gripping to any fan of Keroro Gunsou; or to any fan of military stories."

The Small ThingsThe Small Things

It had been several weeks since Hershel Layton's last "adventure," if one could call it that, and he was trying his best for things to get back to normal.

Some semblance of normalcy was really what he'd needed at the moment. An outpouring of condolences had come from his fellow staff as well as a large majority of the students at Gressenheller University. At first, it had only served to draw more attention to the ordeal, but he did appreciate the effort. He'd been asked if he needed time off—No, he'd insisted, he couldn't just retreat from his job any more than he already had just for some personal vacation. It would b
