Today, I want to talk about something that's been on my mind for quite a long time: Daily Deviation suggestions.
But it wasn't until I read ^Lyricanna's There is no nice way to say it but and `alicexz's New DD Suggestion rule that I felt the need to echo their words and add my two cents.
And I thinks that pretty much covers it all. Perhaps I should have posted this much earlier in my term as a volunteer, but most of these points are the result of the experience I had in the past few months. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to comment here or if you want more privacy, send me a note.
Disclaimer: these are my thoughts and points of view on what Fan Art Daily Deviations should be. Remember each Community Volunteer has their own set of guidelines.
PS. Please send lots of hugs to `Hardrockangel and `WildCharmander. They need lotsa love.

Street Photography for experts
Defining Street Photography
by Dave Beckerman
Most types of photography can be easily defined by their subjects. A wedding photographer takes pictures of weddings. A portrait photographer poses someone and takes their picture. The nature photographer covers a wide area, but it is easy to categorize.
Street photography is difficult to define because it can encompass just about any subject.
If I were to ask you to name a few famous street photographers, you might pick, Garry Winnograd, Henri Cartier-Bresson, or maybe Robert Frank. But if I asked you to define street photography – that would be more difficult. You might say that street photography is candid pictures of strangers on the street. That might be a good start, but it doesn’t really describe street photography.
To start with, street photography doesn’t need to be done on
FAN ART CONTEST - more prizes and first entries! The contest
Winter has always been a season which people either love or hate. No matter where we live we always have some strong emotions connected with it and a lot of them revolve around... snow!
Some love it, some hate it; some play with it creating snowmen, others do everything to get rid of it; some see it all year long and some can only dream about it.

[Closed!] - Complain and Earn a Prize!Update!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Submission for Phase 1 has closed. However, Phase 2 starts tomorrow and that is open to everyone.
That's right, crazy old thorny coconut is giving out prizes for complaining. What could be more fun than that? Well, what happens after the complaining will be more fun, imo, but I'll save that until this portion is complete. Psst, next phase will have more prizes.
The Complaint Challenge! - Phase 1
It's the end of the year and a perfect time to unload your gripes. Put them out in the open and prepare for a new year that will be filled with plenty more complaint worthy stuff.
I don't want just any complaints though. I want your dA complaints! Tell me what bugs you about deviantart the site or the deviantart community. I'm serious business about my prizes too and expect you to put some thought and effort into this.
We don't need super crazy rants (please don't!), and it can be issues that have been brought up before. Any

New deadline: February 10th at 11:59 PM EST!
I could use an extra week before judging, and my poll suggested people could use a little more time than that. I've decided to extend the deadline by 10 days.
Don't forget you must note me your entry to be eligible for prizes. I know I saw some floating around. I do need an official entry note! You may find these other reminders helpful: http://fav.me/d4mk8a6
If your entry is not in this folder, you are not confirmed and should contact me: http://thorns.deviantart.com/favourites/47897505
If you have questions, or needed help, and I haven't fully helped yet, NOTE ME ASAP. If I haven't responded I misplaced your messages. (I know there is definitely one I cannot find.) I apologize and would be appreciate a reminder.

The thing is, this isn't only about statistics but trying to feature more artists, especially those who haven't had the exposure of being on the DD page. But I wont feature people who don't have one just because of it, their art has to be of quality. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.
Plus, there's also ^0JennxYukina0 and ^ChewedKandi featuring Fan Art Daily Deviations. They're guidelines differ from mine. That's why when noting a CV with DD suggestions people should always read their individual guidelines, because each one of us have different criteria when selecting what we feature.
Or would you suggest that people have multiple accounts if they're multitalented?
I guess I'm saying that I hope that you'd always keep your mind open because on rare occasions it may be good to make an exception to any rule.
