|Daily Deviations I've given to date as Fan Art Community Volunteer.|
Hello, everyone! I'm your resident Fan Art Gallery Community Volunteer along with my partners in crime, ^Lyricanna and ^Ry-Spirit. . I'm also currently in charge of the Cartoons & Comics gallery.
One of the privileges I've been given is to choose Daily Deviations be it by finding them by myself or via suggestions. So here's the basic guidelines to send me yours:
Send your suggestions to me ^KasumiCR in a note with 1 to 5 suggestions max! Also, please add thumbs instead of links. Remember, a picture says a thousand words!
Remember to send your suggestion notes to only one Community Volunteer at a time. That way you'll save us confusion and misunderstandings.
Adding a brief description of why you think the piece deserves a DD is not mandatory, but much appreciated.
I do accept self suggestions, but remember to give me a good reason as to why I should give your piece a DD.
Quality of art: When sending suggestions, please bear in mind that I want to feature unique works. The best of an artist's gallery. What I look for in a Daily Deviation is not cuteness. Cute just doesn't cut it, like ^Lyricanna said. I search for emotions, technical skill (composition, shading, colour, etc), interaction of the characters with their surroundings and other characters. I'm looking for pieces that tell me a story and/or show emotion. Of course, there are cute pieces that can show that, but if you're going to send me Twilight Sparkle staring into nothingness, it's not going to get featured.
Copies of official art or screenshots: I'm not talking about direct traces, but pieces that have been "eyeballed" from said sources. They're good for practicing purposes, but as I said above I'd rather feature a fanartist interpretation of their fandom of choice.
Old art: Another thing I've noticed is that people send me old works from time to time. Things that were uploaded back in 2004-2008 (or older). I have no problems featuring old work, but if you find something from 2008 or far back that you think it's good... why don't you look at the rest of that gallery and see how much progress the artist has achieved? I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find much better art in their recent submissions. Just look at it this way: would you rather have a DD with an old piece from your gallery or a DD with a newer piece that you believe shows your growth as an artist over the years?
Don't suggest pieces from artists who have received a DD in the past SIX months. On that same token, I wont feature anyone with 3 DDs or more.
I can only feature Fan Art and Cartoons & Comics, so make sure your suggestions belong to the proper category.
While I will give preference to less known artists , that doesn't mean I'm not open to feature pieces from "popular" artists, as long as I consider the piece to be worthy enough of the feature (keep in mind that this is the exception to the rule). However, I will NOT feature works who have received more than 2000 favorites at the time I read the note.
So that's it. Pretty simple, huh? Feel free to send me your suggestions. While I might not reply to all your notes, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate your efforts and dedication to the deviantART Community.

Please spread the wordWe are still trying to at least meet a goal of $3500 before Thanksgiving, so we can settle down for the holidays. Please, if you are unable to donate, spread the word. It is greatly appreciated!

I'm Baggie. I used to live by the dumpster behind that Fancy Italian Restaurant off the corner of Broadmore 'n' 33rd street. The kids called me Baggie 'cause I carried a worn out plastic bag with me ev'rywhere I went. Inside were trinkets I've had with me since I can remember.
There was a tarnished, golden ring inside, flat as the cracked sidewalk I lived on. I think I stepped on it once, but I still carried it in my bag. I think it belonged to my dad, if I had a dad. At least, I'd like to think it came from my dad, 'cause I don't remember.
There was also this red book with pages torn up 'n' stained so bad you couldn't tell what was on 'em. There's a faded picture of a white rabbit wearin' cloths on the cover of it. I can't read, but I still carried it in my bag. I liked to look at the pictures inside sometimes at night before I went to bed. I dunno why, but I always felt pretty darn happy after seein' some of the pictures of thos
A Twenty-Year BridgeIt used to be that I would throw myself in front of you at the slightest provocation. Take the blow, bear the brunt of the force, push you back out of the way. Attack, bloody everything and everyone around me as long as you weren't hurt. As long as it was me. Because I loved you.
And then...so much happened. Life...everything...got in the way. In the end, we chose separate paths, and you said it yourself: "You're choosing a path I can't follow!" When you told me I was breaking your heart...you broke mine.
And now I'm laying here, strapped to the table, and I hear him say it...hear him say that you're gone...that I killed you...all my fault...
My heart shatters, the previous so-called "breaking" having left me totally unprepared for this soul-crushing, breath-stealing pain. Someone is screaming and someone is laughing as metal screeches and the ground shakes with my rage, with my pain. I feel sharp stabbing in my abused knees--No, that's not right, I don't have
