| Daily Deviations I've given to date as Fan Art Community Volunteer. |
  I'm one the Fan Art Community Volunteers along with ^Lyricanna and ^JZLobo(Fan Fiction). I'm also currently taking care of the Cartoons & Comics Gallery.  Send your suggestions to me ^KasumiCR in a note with 1 to 5 suggestions max! Also, please add thumbs instead of links. Remember, a picture says a thousand words! Remember to send your suggestion notes to only one Community Volunteer at a time. That way you'll save us confusion and misunderstandings. Adding a brief description of why you think the piece deserves a DD is not mandatory, but much appreciated. I do accept self suggestions, but remember to give me a good reason as to why I should give your piece a DD.  Quality of art: When sending a Fan Art suggestions, please bear in mind that I want to feature unique works. The best of a fanartist's gallery. What I look for in a Fan Art Daily Deviation is not cuteness. Cute just doesn't cut it, like ^Lyricanna said. I search for emotions, technical skill (composition, shading, colour, etc), interaction of the characters with their surroundings and other characters. I'm looking for pieces that tell me a story and/or show emotion. Of course, there are cute pieces that can show that, but if you're going to send me Twilight Sparkle staring into nothingness, it's not going to get featured. Copies of official art or screenshots: I'm not talking about direct traces, but pieces that have been "eyeballed" from said sources. They're good for practicing purposes, but as I said above I'd rather feature a fanartist interpretation of their fandom of choice. Old fan art: Another thing I've noticed is that people send me old works from time to time. Things that were uploaded back in 2004-2008 (or older). I have no problems featuring old work, but if you find something from 2008 or far back that you think it's good... why don't you look at the rest of that gallery and see how much progress the artist has achieved? I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find much better art in their recent submissions. Just look at it this way: would you rather have a DD with an old piece from your gallery or a DD with a newer piece that you believe shows your growth as an artist over the years? Don't suggest pieces from artists who have received a DD in the past SIX months. On that same token, I wont feature anyone with more than 2 DDs. I can only feature Fan Art/Cartoons & Comics, so make sure your suggestions belong to the proper category.  If you want to suggest Fan Fiction ^JZLobo is the Volunteer to go, but make sure you read his suggestion guidelines before sending your notes. While I will give preference to less known artists , that doesn't mean I'm not open to feature pieces from "popular" artists, as long as I consider the piece to be worthy enough of the feature (keep in mind that this is the exception to the rule).  However, I will NOT feature works who have received more than 2,000 favorites at the time I read the note. So that's it. Pretty simple, huh? Feel free to send me your suggestions. While I might not reply to all your notes, that doesn't mean I don't appreciate your efforts and dedication to the Fan Art Community. I may not reply to all notes but I do read, consider and appreciate every suggestion . |
